The dense, urban downtown Sacramento area is an ideal place for making trips by bike. In fact, the Midtown neighborhood has rates of bicycling equal to parts of Davis.

SABA enthusiastically supports the City of Sacramento’s ongoing efforts to install bike infrastructure that makes biking a convenient, comfortable, and safe alternative to driving. Our support takes several forms, including, but not limited to: group rides using bicycle facilities we want to showcase to the community; supportive shout-outs in our e-newsletter and social media content; letters of support for projects, grant applications, and community campaigns that advance our city’s bike-friendly goals.

The upcoming Del RioTrail is one example of a low-stress bike network we support that will build a greater connection to existing bicycle infrastructure. The 4.8-mile inner-city trail will run through the Land Park, South Land Park, Freeport Manor, Z’Berg, Pocket and Meadowview neighborhoods, between Interstate 5 and Freeport Boulevard, establishing greater opportunities for bike-commuting and other recreational activities. SABA is proud to endorse this and other projects just like it.
