We’re hiring to fill positions in our bike repair program. SABA bike mechanics perform diagnostics, maintenance and basic repairs at school and community events in South Sacramento, North Natomas, West Sacramento, Rancho Cordova and other locations in the greater Sacramento area. Help us empower people to rely on their bikes for everyday transportation.
Perform basic diagnostic checks to identify problems with wheels and hubs, crankset/drive train, shifters and derailleurs, headset, brakes, bottom bracket, saddle and handlebars
Perform adjustments, maintenance and simple repairs as needed
Document service and recommendations on standardized forms
Communicate in a clear and friendly manner with customers
You’ll work as part of a team of mechanics at events scheduled by SABA and managed by SABA’s Bike Mechanics Program Manager. We provide workstands, supplies and shared tools. You can use your own tools if you have them.
Basic understanding of bikes and how they operate
Experience working on bikes, including maintenance, simple adjustments and basic repairs
Professional bike mechanic experience is helpful but not required. We’ll provide you with paid training at upcoming bike repair events. You must provide your own transportation to and from work locations.

$16 per hour
This is a casual hourly position. Work hours vary from 4 to 20+ hours per month, depending on your availability, the kind of event and time of year. Our bike repair program is active between April and October.
